You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

I wish I knew to use my first and last name for the business name. Although I got approved for the ink preferred with my eBay account as the business name.
I applied with my ebay name and was asked to present bills/ documentation of that business address. Did you need to provide this to them?

They got rid of the "electronic auctions" category -- you can do Retail Nonstore / Other Misc Store / All Other Misc or Retail Nonstore / Used Merch / Used Merch

I didn't bother calling them. From some of the DP that I've read that do not call and majority of the time you are approved.

Funny, I was sent an email stating I was approved so I had them expedite the card. I check the mail today and there was the chase ink card. UPS drops by and gives me another chase ink card that was expedited. Now I have 2 cards.Smilie

Once every 24 months (the 24 month clock starts when you get your previous bonus, not when you got the card itself)

Lol, nice. I waited > 2 weeks to call because others said they would send the card regardless, but never received a card.

I applied last week. I'm a software engineer and I do some contract work for a company (as a self-employeed, I don't have any company registered). I entered my name (as many people said), income, selected the correct category, and they asked to call a number. I immediately called, the girl said something about the Patriot Act, and after waiting 2-3 minutes she said they needed to confirm my SSN. I mailed it, they received it last Tuesday. I called today to 1-888-338-2586, entered my SSN and the automatic recording said I was approved and that I should receive my card in the next 10 days.

TLDR: Applied with my name, sole propietor, they asked me to mail proof of my SSN, and I'm approved now.

Edit: Please ignore. Found number in the post right above this.

Applied to the card Wednesday
Got the 30 day wait/please call us asap message.
Waited instead.
Got approved later that day.
Sent a message and told them to expedite the card to me.
Got the card today.

Its that simple and fast.
Sign up under your own name/sole proprietor
Business name = your own name.

And if you already have a chase account, the new account will be active and ready to use within 24 hours without even having the card. Just login to your chase account, send a secure message and select your new card, then after you sent a message to chase (doesnt matter what you say) Look at your sent message and your full CC account number will be on the card. The card expiration is always 5 years from the current date so 4/23 will be the expiration. You can't get the CVV code though, but lots of places dont need that (amazon for instance)

Is this card under the Chase business account. Or is it the personal account? I'm checking both accounts and it's not showing up but I'm already using it.
