You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

Is this card under the Chase business account. Or is it the personal account? I'm checking both accounts and it's not showing up but I'm already using it.
It should be on your business account sign in.

I got approved, but need ideas how to spend the $3,000.
I think store gift cards should be ok, don't see any red flags in their offer details.

Followed steps to apply on Friday
Got 30 day email straightaway
Called the number 1-800-432-3117, got 7-10 day message straightaway
Called the recon line 1-888-270-2127 on Monday
Was told too many cards in the last two years. The rep said there is no way around it.

I thought business cards were not counted in the 5/24 rule.

Any suggestions?

They aren't counted towards the 5/24. The 5/24 still applies when getting them so if you're already over 5/24 you'll have to see if you can get them to waive/ignore that part.

Should I try calling the reconsideration line again?

You need to be under 5/24 to apply for them, but they don't add to your 5/24 count since Chase biz cards don't show up on your personal credit report

That depends. Is the Chase rep mistaken in that you are actually below 5/24? If so, try again, and be ready to explain why a card on your credit report should not count against that rule, meaning that under Chase's internal rules, the card does not count, not just that you don't want it to count - for instance, if you are an authorized user on another person's card that was opened in the last 2 years, or a store charge card that is not a Visa/MC/Amex. Or, did you misunderstand how business cards work wrt the 5/24 rule? Chase business cards do not add to your 5/24 count, but the rule applies to being approved for one just like if you tried applying for a CSR or Southwest card. If you are actually at or beyond 5/24, calling recon will be pointless, as you will not be approved.

Got rejected. Applied for too many credit cards in the last 2 years. Reconsideration hot line did not reconsider. It's etched in stone.

Same thing but I have not called the recon line.. but what it sounds like is it doesn't matter anyways as the answer will be no. Does the 5/24 rule apply to all cards no matter if they are chase branded or not? Thanks
