You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

Chase business cards don't report to the credit bureaus.
So that means I can carry a balance (a few thousand dollars) and it won't show on my report as unpaid balance or highest balance? Are you saying people looking at my credit report won't know I have a Chase business card?

Chase business cards don't show up on your personal credit reports unless you default (account goes in bad standing) -- they'll still check your credit when applying (hard pull)

Does the 5% cash back apply to buying stuff online at office supply stores? i.e. officedepot.com?

Generally speaking, yes.

Nobody cares what you buy with it. Chase certainly doesn't care if you use it for personal purchases (indeed some of their terms make it clear they expect that to happen)

That language you cite is there because business cards don't have all the same consumer protections personal cards do and Chase doesn't want anyone suing them because they used it for a personal purchase and then found that out later.

Just FYI.
I applied as Sole Proprietor, with "Individual" for the other 3 business categories.
$1000 for profit, $100,000 for income. 0 employees.
Got approved immediately with a $12k credit line.

Also approved with claiming I'm managing a rental property. When they ask you how much you expect to spend, definitely say like 10k. I wasn't sure so said like $2k per month. Then got only $3k credit line.

Was approved in 24 hours. Just spoke with the finance dept to expedite card shipment and asked about FICO score and cards opened in the past two year. Cards opened the past 2 years is 7. FICO 797, credit limit $15k.

Ugh... 800+ credit score and I got the 7-10 status as a sole proprietor. When I called today, they wanted business name verification. I guess that's because I didn't just have a name only business?
