Good deal! Personally I'd wait and get a refurb as Dell does warranty their refurbs. You should be able to get an i7 and 16gb for right around the same price.
Glad to see TB3 on these Inspirons, that's the only reason I didn't get one last time around.

This is an excellent deal only really beat out I think by the $830 i7 Lenovo Y720 deal a while back.. and that didn't even come with an SSD. I have that deal from last August and let me just say that you might want to upgrade that RAM from 8GB in order to take full advantage of the 1060 under certain circumstances.

Best example is I wasn't able to play Mirrors Edge at the lowest settings without frame stuttering and averages in the 30-40s, upgraded to 16 and I could max it out at 1080p at a solid 60 frames. Couldn't have Overwatch and Chrome open at the same time, fixed after that upgrade as well.

You don't necessarily need 16gb by any means, most games you'll be able to play just fine, but under certain cases there will be times that RAM will be a bottleneck, even if you're doing as little as browsing the internet between queuing for matches in OW.

Update: For $772 this is definitely the best 1060 laptop deal ever.

I have this laptop. Purchased it from Costco for $799. For gamers its a great deal as it comes with the GTX 1060. Most laptops under $1k come with the 1050ti . I did put another 8 gigs of RAM and a second SSD .

So how will this perform on some of the higher end games if anyone can tell me? Also anyone know realistic battery life for non gaming type setting (work, school)?

Just to make it clear, that this is the MaxQ 1060, which isn't quite as powerful as the regular GTX1060.

You should be able to run most games at 1080p, only reducing things for the highest end titles. This gets about 3-4 hours of battery life. If that's a concern, I'd highly suggest getting the Inspiron with the 1050Ti. You get double the battery life and can still play most games.

They have one i7 7th gen (latest model), 512 gb ssd, 16 gb, 1 TB HDD, 4k display, 1060 graphics for around 1150 (incl tax.)..

Thanks, link the 1050ti if you would?
