ProtectiveClean 5100 is this year's new model. It is essentially the same as Flexcare+, no intensity setting.
Priced $89.99 at its release, and dropped to $79.99 earlier this month. Now with $10 coupon I think it's a good deal.

I used fathead, Series 2, Flexcare+, and am using Flexcare Premium. If you can't stand noise, avoid entry-level Sonicare toothbrushes, they are super noisy, and come with NiMH battery. Start from Flexcare+ (5100). If you have sensitive gums, choose Flexcare Premium (6100).
I don't like DiamondClean's user-unfriendly charging design. Unless you are very into its appearance, avoid it too.
Sonicare has, I think, five ongoing product lines. Each has its variants, colors, charging, sanitizing, brush head, number of handles, etc. Rule of thumb: go for the cheapest one at each line unless you have special needs.
I guess you are saying Series 2 (now called EssentialClean)? Go for it if you don't care about battery lifespan and noise. Amazon sometimes sell it for $29.99 but 65 for two is good too.
Never used an Oral-B... Sorry.
Thanks for the feedback
I saw that on Costco's website too. Will post it later.
