California: Lease 2018 Chevrolet Volt Electric Car as low as $5K for 3yr/12k YMMV (~$138/mo)

3 years ago, a lot of us bought the Spark EV. Those leases are up and here is a good replacement option

Several Chevrolet dealers in California are leasing Volts for around $7000 one-pay (this means you have to pay this upfront, but you don't have to make monthly payments).

It requires two things

1) must own an asian brand car 1999 or newer to qualify for a $2500 "conquest rebate"
2) qualify for GM discount (some dealers will give you the discount even if you don't qualify)

After $1500 state rebate and ~$500 utility rebates (available in MOST counties), your final price is about $5000. Or about $138/mo if you want to think of it that way.

If you are low income, you may even qualify for an additional $2000 in rebate from the state: Income Eligibility [cleanvehiclerebate.org]

Take the leases I am posting here and ask your local dealers to match. Many people have had success doing this. Both in NorCal and SoCal.

What makes this deal possible is a big $8250 in GM rebates

$3250 GM Financial Rebate
$2500 CCR Program Rebate
$2500 Conquest Rebate
$200-400 First Payment Waiver (optional)

Couple that with about 10%+ off MSRP and that's how you arrive at the price.

I am not 100% sure, but I think the "conquest rebate" ends on Monday 4/2/2018.

ProTip: Try dealerships that have a lot of Volts in stock. Some dealership just do not have Volts to sell, so there is no point in negotiating with them. Any dealerships that have 20+ Volts will be more willing to match.

Also, if you are giving up your Spark EV for a Volt, you get $500 of wear and tear coverage.

With GM supplier and 10k per year, $6500 or less one pay is possible. One added perk for one pay is at least one socal dealer allows up to $10k on credit card. Good way to meet minimum credit card spend, e.g chase sapphire preferred, chase ink preferred or chase ink cash. It's too late to apply for them now but good for those who just got them recently.

How did I know you were gonna show up there?

Is this still a good deal without the Asian lease conquest? That's like an extra $70 per month. But if one can get the low-income rebate then the extra $2000 will make up for some of the loss.

No. They are using funny math by including the rebates in their sales price calculation.

Momentum Chevrolet in San Jose is the one leasing them for $7200, so go there instead. Or better yet, show Fremont and the lease and see if they will price match.

I wouldn't do without Asian conquest. Perhaps other conquest could be $1500 but I'm not positive. The other conquest was listed on Chevy sales girl spreadsheet but she took it off. I think it was mainly the other american brands and the european brands.
