Does anyone know how often this happens? I have only seen twice but I haven't really been paying attention. Also is there anyway to get an alert specifically for these? I don't want to be alerted about every ebay coupon code only site wide. Thanks!
we don't know exactly what you have because sometimes people don't care what they call things; it could be a coupon or a code or a gift card or whatever. anyway, if it is a long string of letters and numbers and you can put it into your account for safekeeping, it is probably capable of stacking with an ebay promotion. is it a "$10 off coupon" or it is really just a "$10 coupon?"
just try to use the $10 coupon and then forgo the purchase. then try again and if you see the $10 in your account with a checkbox (which means it is option for you to use it or not), then you are probably good to go when the time comes to first enter the ebay promotion code "35PERCENTOFFHURRY" or whatever, get your discount, and then check the box to use your $10 for further "savings" and then finally pay.

personally i think you can add in the promotion code first and get your discount for the day and after that, go ahead and add your coupon code and it should work.
perhaps the code doesn't stick unless you actually purchase something so next time you get a chance and maybe buy something cheap, like for $1, you add the coupon, it takes $1 away from the $10, and your next purchase, it sticks showing $9 available.
Compared to previous years, eBay really upped its game in 2018...likely, to boost sales in an effort to make its stock look better to shareholders, as well as to try to recapture some of the business it lost to Amazon and B&M stores like Target that have reinvented themselves to be able to better survive the shift toward online comparison shopping....
Since eBay doesn't have a solid game plan like Kohl's, which offers certain sales events like clockwork, it's doubtful that there is a way to predict when/if eBay will be offering the next site-wide coupons; however, it should be noted that a site-wide sale frequently followed closely behind an 8% or 10% eBay Bucks promo last year, and that, although eBay offered very few coupons during the first month of each quarter, while eBay Bucks certificates were redeemable, coupons tended to become more abundant toward the end of each quarter....
Note the difference in coupon volume just between the end of 2017 and 2018, alone:

i caved in on one of my big purchases sitting in the ebay cart and bought it from elsewhere with a full 10% discount. the max from a 15% ebay discount is probably $100 so anything above $667 (my purchase) and you're getting less than 15%. since i got the full 10% elsewhere, i may have only missed out on less than 5%. i guess it's worth it considering we have no idea if the ebay promo will ever happen much less the terms.
now all i need is to take care of the other half of my ebay cart so all i need is one ebay promo this spring/summer instead of two.
