If you expect these to work like a $15 headset, this wouldn't be a deal anymore.
It's like getting disappointed that disposable razor became bad after just 2 weeks of use.
I've commented maybe five times in ten years of slickdeals, but I have a love of "pocketable headphones" out of necessity. I've ruined, and will continue ruining, so many pairs it's insane.

These are the best sounding pocketable headphones per $ that I've found. I've used probably over a dozen different brands and types. These are extremely loud with pretty decent sound and I don't mind when they break. My old favorites were Etymotics, but after breaking enough in my pocket, these have become my "every day carry" headphones. They don't have any volume buttons which is a bummer to me since I use an app that lets put in custom button codes. But they still sound great, are loud, fit into my ear and stay put, and dont ruin my day if they break in my pocket, which makes them (in my requirements and opinion)the best low end headphones I've found. I've been on the same two different pairs (the white and black) over the last year and a half and they haven't broken at all. I once lost a black pair though because I washed them when I forgot them in my pocket and they wrapped around the washer spinner and the left ear would crackle after that.

The biggest issue I have gotten with most "every day in my pocket and working out" headphones is that they fail in two main places: where they plug in, and where the wire goes into the headphone. It happened so often with the "where they plug in" on other headphones (especially skull candy and Bose) that I even bought a soldering kit with replacement stems. These have not had those issues at all. So at the very least I can give them higher durability than those two brands.

Many bad reviews about the headphone stopping working in 1 year.

Ok... So how many years of use do you expect from $15 headset?

With wires? If you treat it well and use it once a week or so? At least 10.

I agree, however I see people all the time who post about wearing headphones multiple hours per day at work for example. To anyone like that these may not be worth it. That being said, $15 for some JBL's seems pretty good

I will take a chance on these. Thanks

Edit: I ended up returning them because they have zero bass. I prefer the Sony extra bass ear buds that cost around $30.

I have Phillips ones for 8+ that I use more often. There is no need for headphones to stop working for no reason. One year is too short - however, these seem to have a 1 year warranty; so, I think these should be reliable.

1 year warranty + 2 years extended warranty with citi credit card... More than what I can expect from a $15 headphones.
