If you are going to use it with a smart phone, I personally recommend the $89/99 little brother, the Zhiyun Smooth-Q over the DJI Osmo/Osmo 2.
https://www.bhphotovide
1. Less Cost
2. Has unlimited slew, Both versions of the Osmo have physical stops limiting the slew to less than 360 degrees.
3. Has true remote control either through an optional blue-tooth puck, or second phone, so you can control it on the end of a monopod, or a tri-pod in a different room (limited by blue-tooth connectivity)
4. 11 hour battery life, I've used it for 7 hours and had 3/4 battery. Can charge your phone while in use too with appropriate cable.
5. Using the 'Assistant' Software, you can tweak its behavior on all axis to your liking with super fine control (as slow as 1 degree per second). Their newer 'Play' software is not really functional, don't use it.
Adavantage of the Osmo over Zhiyun
1. Apps for your phone -- software is much better from DJI, if it fits your needs.
I use a 3rd phone as a remote viewfinder, and I basically get a system that is comparable in operation to a $15k+ rig that takes smooth 4K video (in bright light) while using older Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phones in a much smaller and lighter form-factor. The only place where the $15k+ rig out-performs is in low light settings.
I've used this setup for concerts (ultra slow panning), to indoor futsol soccer (very high speed tracking).
Once you use a stabilizer, you don't go back, unless it isn't convenient for you if you like smooth professional video for your home videos.

This can fit a small mirrorless camera, Dji OSMO mobile can only hold phones?
If you are closer to the weight limit, it increases the chance that the motors will die. There are lots of youtube videos with different cameras. This is probably the best value gimbal for a point and shoot, but you can find cheaper gimbals for something as light weight as a smartphone.
Thank you. I need just for phone and I guess osmo will be fine. By the way if you have idea, I have note 8. Could it be bigger for osmo? Thank you for information
Your phone will do just fine. The Osmo Mobile 2 is coming out on 4/25 I believe. It's better in so many ways than the first one, except that its body is made of plastic instead of metal. Plus, it's reasonably priced at $129!

But if you need a gimbal for your phone, small camera like the Canon G7X and Gopro, crane m is your gimbal.

Dji osmo is old. Zhiyun updates all the time. So here goes. Smooth-q is outdated but still good and cheap and smooth 4 is what to get now for smartphone. But anything heavier like adding a simple len or mic you'll need crane-m. If you have small dslr or phone you should get crane plus. Crane plus is upgrade model of zhiyun crane and crane v2. And of course the big boy is crane 2 (not v2). It takes a while to remember it all. I hope everyone write this down so I don't have to repeat this for the next time zhiyun crane model comes out and people ask. So unless you're strictly doing the phone or DSLR you also have to consider the weight of all the accessories like microphone, LED light, etc
