Great product. Have had this for 8 years, never an issue. So light and powerful, kept gassed at all times. Bought Hitachi blower, string trimmer and chainsaw with big rebates from Hitachi back in the Depression (2010). Pretty sure Hitachi's equipment is just green-cased professional Tanaka. Also have a straight-shaft trimmer (very similar to the one in Amazon's deal-of-day today). Trimmer was recalled, Hitachi provided box, repair, and shipping both ways. Had an issue with the chainsaw overheating and damaging the case, mailed it back and they replaced free at almost 7 years. 7 year consumer warranty, can't beat it.

Have had this for almost 6 years, probably with some Sears free after points promo.

I love it. When I first got it, I (unwittingly) mistreated it: used gas with ethanol, let it sit all winter without draining the gas, etc. Still, never ever an issue. Starts up on the first or second pull every time and the power is good.

When looking at the CFM specs, I am pretty sure this is about as good a handheld blower as there is (especially at this price range), and it even compares favorably with many of the lower end backpack blowers.

I also highly recommend. Had mine for 7 years. Didn't realize that I've had it so long as it still looks, and performs like new. Been using premixed fuel. No issues.

Hmm, I was close to pulling the trigger on the space-gun looking Ryobi unit but this sure is tempting.

FWIW re. ethanol - I've used 10% ethanol pump gas since forever. Only unit I ever had an issue with was a 1989 vintage McCullough blower where the primer bulb went gummy. Replaced bulb 25 years ago with redesigned bulb, still running fine today. My other equipment, I just run the gas out at season's end and squirt some 30w in the cylinder and leave it. It's not rocket surgery, but I have neighbors with stuff a couple years old that won't start. Go figure.

Toro tractor, 1995
Wheeled blower, 1984
Toro single stage blowers, 1980 and 2013
Sears tiller, 1966 (!)
Jacobsen mulcher, 1989
Handheld blowers, 1989 and 2010
String trimmer, 2010
Chainsaw, 2010

I have had one of these for about 4 years and love it. I had bought and returned a homelite and echo before finding this Hitachi. This one is super easy starting and lightweight. Absolutely no regrets.

Great product. Ordered two of them as referbs during the last deal a month or so back. Works great. Use Tru-Fuel in it and it will last for a very long time, I suspect.

So in case anyone was on the fence, I also want to add that these are great units. Mine is new at only 3 years old compared to others but never a problem starting it.

I have been looking at replacing my blower/trimmer this year as I just find the battery powered units way too weak. I know you all seem to think these are pretty nice pieces of equipment, but how is the deal? I don't NEED to replace, I just want to if I can find a nice DEAL on a set. Think the price gets lower than this?
