The trimmer in this kit is only a trimmer and can only ever be a trimmer. To reload the trimmer string, it is a manual process.

The "power head" and "multi-head" system has the switchable attachments to turn those specific units into different tools. This kit does not include that system.

"Powerload" is a button on some of the trimmers that allows a faster trimmer string reload. The trimmer in this kit doesn't have that either.

Great combo.

The trimmer works very well. No complaints.

The battery doesn't last very long with the blower before needing to be recharged. However, if you are already invested in the EGO system and have more than one battery, it's a nice tool.

Not the lowest price, but still a good deal.

Quick question: unless they said "power head", those kit with string trimmer does not have replaceable attachment, right?

Trimmer works fine. But I've been seeing a lot of used ones for sale lately in my area. Not sure why.

I don't have much experience shopping with Ace Hardware. If I buy the combo can I just return the trimmer? How does it work?

No you can't, it's sold as one single combo in one box

If they are "used" but look brand new, it is also possible people are buying kits for the batteries and don't need the tools.

Terrible deal. Blower is low cfm, trimmer is barely ok and no multi-head so you have to keep buying different tools. Skip this trash.

The multiheads are almost just as expensive as the bare tools and never come with a battery. One could probably argue the dedicated tools work better, too?

A good video that compares some of the leaf blower models that EGO sells: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIi9Plo6Z8w

This video may help you decide if purchasing one of the more expensive EGO blowers is worth it to you. For me, it was not. I use the blower in this kit on "Turbo" mode almost entirely. That's where having more batteries is helpful.

This is my 3rd summer using the kit for sale in this post and I think it's great for the cost. I no longer use a gas trimmer. I originally bought this kit for the battery, charger, and blower. The trimmer I considered a bonus because I already had a ST1523S trimmer.

I actually like the trimmer in this kit MORE as it is slightly less powerful than the ST1523S. Having less power, causes less damage when accidental contacts are made with my fence posts, siding, etc. This thing plows through my grass, weeds, and small plants easily. It can take out some small trees too. Once the diameter of a tree trunk is about that of a pencil it's 50/50 if it cuts through it or just strips off the bark and tangles the small tree.

EGO's batteries are so expensive that when any main part of this kit goes out/breaks for me (the battery, the bower, or the trimmer) I'm probably buying it again and keeping the extras until I need them or selling the parts I don't need. That's how much I like this kit and it's a good value for what you get included.

Sorry for the OT question but my garage burned down and I have to replace all my lawn equipment. Question: Ryobi 40 volt or EGO 40 volt or another brand? Thanks.

I've had both, I don't recommend Ryobi unless you are already in the ecosystem. Ryobi doesn't work as well in cutting, vibration and noise. I haven't yet greenworks, but would considered it if I'm starting over. Heard good things about them. I love the ego stuff, but keep in mind their battery is known to fail after expiration. Mine failed during warranty and they send me a replacement.
