The Sennheiser HDVA600 is a premium headphone amplifier that offers balance symmetrical audio signal w/ high resolution and low harmonic distortion. Designed and manufactured in Germany, great for any audiophile headphone users; BuyDig is an authorized USA Dealer.
How do these headphones and amp compare to HD700 played through Chord Mojo? I just bought that combination and was woefully disappointed. My HD598 coming straight out of my MacBook Pro sound significantly cleaner, clearer and have no worse soundstage. Maybe I got a bad HD700 (it was certainly a return).

That's dissappointing to hear. I was looking forward to getting the Mojo for my HD800. I'd pick up the HDVA600 at this price, but I need a DAC also. Oh well, guess I'll continue to wait.

I don't think the Mojo is the problem. I think it's the HD700s. The HD598 sounded great on the Mojo, and my understanding is that the HD800's "scale" much better.
I wonder if I should return the HD700 and buy a pair of HD800?
The HDVA600 was originally released as a match for Senneheiser's top of the line HD-800 headphones. It should also be a great match for other high impedance headphones like Sennheiser's HD700, HD650, HD600 and Beyerdynamics 250-600 Ohm versions of their headphones.
It has a high output impedance... 47 Ohm I think, and that is supposed to make it a lot less suitable for Low Impedance Headphones...like almost any IEM and Most Planar Headphones (Hifiman, Audeze etc.)
It has balanced headphone outputs (the 4 pin thing on the front) as well as standard unbalanced...so there is that if you have a balanced headphone.
Original retail is about $1200 I think, and a lot are sold for $900, so this is a good deal if you have the right headphones to match it and the bucks to spend on a headphone amp.
I owned the HD700 briefly and was not a fan of the sound (liked my HD600 better). But, this amp should make them sound as good as they can. They are probably Senns most controversial headphone. You like them or you don't.

I can second that I have a Burson conductors virtuoso and the mojo along with lcd 3 and HD650 and se846. The mojo does a fantastic job. Problem must be the hd700. Seriously I'd get a lcd 2 hd800 or even a 650 for cheap from Mass drop over the hd700. Just my personal opinion.

Awesome price for an amp alone.
Great match for sennheiser or other demanding headphones.
