Projector uses DLP Link, which should be compatible with numerous third-party glasses (starting at $25 each on Amazon) or Optoma's own, like the ZD302 ($50 each). You can also connect an RF emitter such as Optoma's ZF2300 ($50) to use non-DLP-Link glasses.

I'll have some ambient light and will be sitting close to the projector, so noise is a big issue. Any advice? Should I just go with this one for the great price and see how it goes?

i don't game (much) and am much more worried about watching movies/TV. i don't think that's the one for me, unless you think i'm missing something.
