Have your Freedom Friends Program changed(Freedom Friends)

*We're sorry to say, but we've been subject to targeted abuse with users leveraging multiple accounts to aggregate additional free data. We have tried to battle the abuse by adding conditions around accounts with no data usage over several months, but unfortunately we have been forced to limit the friends sharing program.

You can now earn 5MB of additional data for every friend that joins our service per month, up to a maximum of 50MBs per month. Both your account and your friends account must be active. If either account has no data usage or activity, sharing data will not work.

How do I earn free data every month?

You can earn additional free data each month by connecting with friends on FreedomPop! You'll earn 5MB of additional data for every friend that joins our service per month, up to a maximum of 50 MBs per month. Both your account and your friends account must be active. If either account has no data usage or activity, sharing data will not work.

You can also share data between friend accounts (a maximum of 50 MBs, and 5 MBs with each friend). The account sharing data must be an active one. If the account is inactive it cannot share data with any friends and data cannot be requested of that account.

Please Note: If you have already received 50MBs of data -- either from the automatic Freedom Friends function that gives you 5MBs per friend or from data that has been shared with you-you will not be able to accumulate more data from Friends. https://support.freedompop.com/ap.../a_id/2186

What network does FreedomPop use?

All our 4G LTE GSM Sim Deals work off a TOP US GSM Provider to provide our users with Nationwide 4G LTE. If you aren't sure or want to know more, please feel free to PM us here.

Do I need a credit card on file?

No, this does not need a credit card upfront. However, if you want to purchase additional data because you have used up the 1GB with a 1 month period, then you will have to add a credit card. If you want to continue w/ service at the same price after the 3 or 12-month period, you will need to add a credit card.

Do I need to activate it?

Yes, please visit www.freedompop.com/activate after you have received your SIM card but a credit card is not required. You will also need to setup the APN and download the FreedomPop Messaging App. Please read and follow the instructions on the original packaging your SIM Kit arrived in.

What happens after your 3 or 12 month period?

You can choose to continue with our service at its original rate or not. You will be alerted prior to expiration asking you to login and provide a credit card in order to setup renewal. You will be able to add a payment method and renew at the original rate of $19.99 or $49.99 after your first 3 month or 12 month period!

What happens after I used my 1GB monthly allotment?
Your account is LOCKED and stays locked until you contact them to re-activate! The process takes days to resolve!

Will I be able to keep my current FreedomPop number?

Yes! With this LTE SIM account you will first need to choose a new number and if desired to transfer over your number on an active FreedomPop account please contact us here for Admin assistance via PM or visit our Community Forums with your transfer requests.

*Please note, to port-in your number from a different carrier you will need to add a valid credit card on your account in order to successfully port your number to FreedomPop.

What about the Basic Plan?
We will always offer our basic plan. Downgrade directly from your FreedomPop account page anytime once your SIM Kit ships and your service is activated.

Please Note! When downgrading to the basic plan, an account balance of $2 is required to protect from fraud and leakage, as data usage can be delayed up to 3 hours. There is a pop-up alert before to confirm a $15 charge to add credit into your account. Downgrade is not complete until the pop-up is accepted.
Learn more here - https://support.freedompop.com/ap...#downgrade

After downgrading to our basic plan, a $0.01 charge can be applied, please refer to our Service Plans Terms agreement [freedompop.com] under "Active and Suspended Broadband and Phone Service".

This reply reminds me of my manager. Replies every time, but doesn't answer anything.
The data necessary to make calls or texts is run through AT&T's 4G LTE data and does not count against the 1GB of data you get monthly. FreedomPop in essense did a deal with AT&T to use their data stream for calls. They do not use AT&T's cellular calling functions. It's all thru the 4G LTE data.

So if you're connected to WiFi at home, work, or somewhere else, the phone will use the WIFi for the calls. But when you're away from WiFi and only have AT&T 4G LTE service, then it uses the LTE service data for the calls and texts. Hope that makes sense.
The service is not good in terms of reception area and they constantly try to auto enroll you to different services that cost you money. If you decline it by dispute your credit card charges they cancel your account immediately and you won't have a chance to recover your number or transfer your number. first hand experience, learned the hard way, so you dont have to.

Say what you want about FreedomPop in the past or this or that, this new GSM deal is stellar. $45 for a year of decent service is unheard of in today's market - so keep it for a backup phone or whatever. It's a great deal and if you look around, you can use hotspots almost everywhere to stay within the data limit.

At $50 it was a good deal, at 10% off that, it's even better!

This amazing deal got even better! I bought (3) of these SIMs last month for $49.99, thinking that was incredible price. Now even lower! So far I've been happy with the service. Put my daughter and a friend on it and they've had no complaints. Kept the other one in my back-up phone and love it.

They should offer Unlimited slow data. 1GB data is not enough for today.

FreedomPop uses AT&T's cellular data to route the calls thru VOIP. So I get great quality calls. Very comparable to standard cellular calls. It's similar to when you use Google Hangouts Dialer on your phone to make a call.

But you still have to use Freedompop app to make phone calls, plus need to install a certificates in iOS to make it work? That's my only concern, anyone has any experience to share? Thanks!

Yeah, I've only done it on Android phone so far. Easy to download their talk/text app. Then enter their server address in the phone's APN settings. Trust me, it's easy. They have step-by-step "Cell Phones for Dummies" directions.
