Home Depot has this tape measure package for $11.97, which is for store pickup in my area (Kansas City). So, YMMV.

Never mind. It comes up 11.97 in the cart, but only available for express delivery from store, which is $35. So how do we make this deal actually slick?
Showing $11.97 for me.
Ok, the cheapest I can get this in Gaithersburg, MD is $21.68 (11.97 + 8.99 shipping + .72 tax) Meh.
This is an in-store price only with the option to buy online and pickup in store.
OP, can you update the title to include B&M YMMV?
I love DeWalt a lot, but Stanley wins here, and yes they're owned by the same people but theres a clear difference in their tape measurers. Just because it has DeWalt on it, doesn't make it superior.
Also, a few things to look for in a tape measurer
- How easy is it to use the clip
- How does the spring inside hold up
- Is it magnetic on the end
- Does the end have easy grib so if it's just you, you can keep it in place
- Can it connect to Alexa and order an Uber
- Does it have an extra protective layer on the first few feet
For those that just need a freaking tape measurer, get it! Seriously. For those wanting a really good one, keep looking. A lot of people get along just fine with an old styled Stanley but if you want more modern features.. Stanley, Milwaukee, etc have all the bells and whistles. My personal preference is a classic Stanley 33-425.

I guess if they are used around the house, and not in the elements they should be fine.
IMHO.
The one they offer for free with purchase is pretty low quality, but if durability, reliability, standout, etc. don't matter to you, here is a coupon for the cheap free one (with purchase):
