Very nice pictures Snipe... I'm actually thinking of getting a decent Digital Camera. Was considering something a bit more "Robust" than a consumer grade, but want it to be as compact as possible.. (Semi-professional, but compact)

Any suggestions?

Well, I am shooting with the Canon 10d (digital-slr), it's a Prosumer camera. I love it and recommend it to anyone who is interested in going beyond point-and-shoot style photography. Of course the 20d is coming out within the next month and will be replacing my camera (in a good way) =(

Looks interesting.. A friend of mine recently switched from "point-and-shoot' to "Prosumer" type. His biggest problem is that he had a very light/compact camera, which he kept with hims all the time before, but he finds his too bulky to take around... Do you think I'd have the same problem with the 10D? It seems a bit large, but I dont think there is anything available that is compact...

Perhaps I'm looking for a prosumer camera with the eyes of a "point&shooter"

Well, with Digital SLR you really must commit to both the camera, and the brand you purchase. The bodies alone are expensive, but the lenses are what can really cost the most. As for added "bulk", absolutely, I carry three lenses with me every where I go (50mm macro, 28-135mm zoom, 100-400mm telephoto).. But every shot is unique and requires just the right setting.

This was taken at a pond on campus. This duck was awsome, it would jump up and get the food out of our hands.

I was leaning towards the Nikon Prosumer products.. Do you have any experience with them?

I was out on my four-wheeler this evening and stopped every once in a while and snapped some pictures if something looked interesting. I just thought the view down this road look cool so I took a picture of it. I didn't notice anything in the sky, but what the heck is that flying around? Maybe I finally captured a pic of a UFO woot

Ok, so it's probably a bug or a dirt speck on the lens, but it didn't show up in any other pictures I took tonight, so I'm gonna stick with the UFO story nod

Actually, after using my super high-tech imaging software, I enhanced the unidentified object, and I think you might be on to something!
