When adding this EVGA 1080 card [evga.com] to your cart and applying code FATHERSDAY18 at checkout
The price will become: $494.99 + shipping (~$12)
This is the MSRP price for the GTX 1080 with the better cooling solution so I hope that it could help someone who needs a new card right away
1607 MHz Base Clock
1733 MHz Boost Clock
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

these falling prices have been great 👍🏿
Unless you absolutely need a card between now and until the looming NVDA announcement in late July, I'd just wait. 1. to understand performance differences between generations 2. to see what pricing strategy will be (unless you are in their marketing dpmt you don't know) 3. July 4th deals in case you need one in the interim.

Play around with the coupon code b/c I got this to work on other 1080's as a test.

I'd also recommend ICX models for 1080/1080ti since it addresses heat concerns online communities had.
Not really. Duke is really good.

How is this deal compared to the MSI GTX 1080 Duke @$400?

EVGA better brand?
Is Gaming better version than the Duke?

They have different specs on them. Higher clock speeds, different features, different looks. It all depends on which one bests suits you.

Yeah ... Wait for another price drop or bite? I'm conflicted and am putting together a new build-- though I'm not in a rush

I'm thinking a 4th of July or "summer sale" would end up with slightly better, or at least equivalent deals to anything for Father's Day.

I would wait for a price drop for 1080's if you're not in a rush. There's 4th of July coming up so they'll prolly be cheaper.
