Not only 1080P but an IPS panel as well. There were two Laptops, one from Asus and another from Acer, at this price point, offers 1080P Screen but all of them are TN Panel and also comes with outdated hardware.
This one is pretty much using latest standards, 8th Gen Processor, DDR4 Ram, Type-C Port (GEN 2 10 Gbps), quick Charge feature etc,
And one thing, although 8th Generation Core i3 U series processors are dual core unlike Quad Core i5 and i7, they have higher cache memory than even 7th Gen Core i5 and they support Turbo Boost as well. This Core i3-8130U actually performs better than a 7th Gen Core i7-7500U.
This does have user accessible Ram and I have mentioned that in the spec. It has one On-Board 4GB Module and another Slot which is currently populated with 2GB Module. You can replace that one with any DDR4L module.

And the HDD is not only replaceable, but also comes with a spare PCIe NVMe M.2 Slot which is amazing at this price point. One thing to note here, it does not support SATA III M.2 SSD, only PCIe NVMe.
Is this actually true?

Returned
" I was not pleased with it in a few ways that made me return it. For at-home, light-load computing, this thing is alright. Just beware of having Windows 10, a fairly bloated OS, on a 5400 RPM HDD. -The construction of it was not level, and as I typed, the whole computer wobbled and clicked upon the surface of the table. It was RMAed for that reason. -The laptop's cooling fan was too noisy for the classroom environment that I needed to use it in. I'm not just being picky here... -The hard drive is bottle-necking the entire computer, but in all fairness, I should have realized before purchasing. It takes years to do most tasks. Just Google it. A cheap SSD would make this laptop miles better."

Wow, is that bezel less I see in the picture as well. Man computers at the low end are becoming amazing values. If this has a swappable HD and upgradeable ram everyone and there mother will be on it. For the entry level crowd atleast. Also no tax for most! Sort of looks like an ultrabook chassis.

Does this have a backlit keyboard? Also can you add an SSD or upgrade the hard drive, or would it be really hard to do on this device?

Typically, B&H provides 30 days return policy for most of their laptops. Just don't throw their boxes if you think you might consider returning within allowed timeframe

Curious is that a sure thing? PCIe M.2 slots are not backwards compatible with SATA drives?
