While I dont doubt this is a good phone, I feel like 4GB RAM is the new standard. Id rather get that with the 64GB version than settle for 2GB of RAM less. My HTC One M8 has 2GB of ram and its 4 years old (or more) now sooooo.

It says brand new yet it also states that the phone has a 1 year warranty from the seller. If it was brand new I can't see why it wouldn't have the factory warrant from Motorola. In this case you might as well buy the "New - Other" version and save a few extra bucks.

While I agree with you completely (hence the link to the original deal that was marked expired) my wife wants "new" because we have been burned before. I always take the gamble but I had to surrender on this one for $12. I know, not a good slickdealer and all that but those who are married will understand. Happy wife, happy life. I shall not push my luck. I am just thankful she is good with $100 phones and not a "gotta have the new iphone" person.

Fwiw I bought a new inbox Old Stock Note 5 a couple of years ago from the seller. It was indeed new and sealed box.
Also I think that because of low bloat these 2 gb models are fine. Used one for a couple months last year. No lag problems.
I don't do a million things on my phone at one time though.
Paid $179 at Costco.
No this isn't a screaming good deal like the out of stock Walmart one but decent if you need a phone. TU

Yeah...maybe. I have an Honor 7x, which has 3GB of RAM. It's quite peppy and does everything I need and was a great deal. 2GB (like my old Moto G4) does not cut it anymore, but perhaps the better processor on this G5 Plus makes up for it? No idea, but my new minimum is 3GB, assuming the phone is solid otherwise.

Is this a good phone to buy to get in on the Sprint deal? Can anyone else recommend a cheaper alternative? Fyi , I'm Gonna use the Sprint phone for my extra marital affairs. I hope the signal is okay.

I should clarify that I was not saying it wasn't a good deal and in fact I think it's good that you posted it. So I apologize if my original post gave the wrong impression. Also just so you know I did not down vote your post, if fact I just realized that I forgot to vote at all & I gave your post a thumbs up because this is a very good deal for this phone. I am surprised though on how the seller can list it as new if it doesn't come with a warranty from Motorola. But either way, this is a great deal for this phone.

I was wondering about the seller warranty vs the manufacturer's warranty also. I think that the seller may have purchased the phones from a non USA seller or not an authorized Motorola dealer, and hence there is not a warranty from Motorola. So if there is a problem you do not about the quality of the warranty or repair work. But it is a very good phone for this price. If it was not so close to July sales, I would more tempted.

As it is considered an end of life phone, it is common that manufacturers only provide a warranty for a certain period of time after the device is made. We have sold 2000+ of the new other phones which are open box units, we do have a limited number of these units that are truly brand new. We care about our customers experience and don't want to mislead a consumer to believe they would get a manufacturer warranty when it is something that brands will commonly not honor.
