Interesting, I had one of the "bad batch" of HE-560s from Adorama a few months ago where the headband broke after a few weeks. Cool to see that they came out with a new revision with the metal headband and newer styling (no more fake wood grain).

Loved the sound of the HE-560 V1 but was let down by the build quality. In for a pair of the V2!

Folks at the HiFi forum have received their V2 and are complaining that these don't sound same as the original HE-560. In fact, the sound signature has changed for the worse.

Sounds like the headband suspension strap is too short. A head-fi user measured it to be 6.5 inches long. I measured my own HE560 and posted on there that it is 8 inches long. The same user also measured his Sundara and its also 8 inch long, so they seemed to be shipping it with defective headbands... maybe? I can't see why it would be designed for infants.

update: it's actually about 8.25 inches

the v2 headband strap is about 8" from end to end. I just measured it.

I'm not being rude, but what was the exact measurement if you just measured it? "about" has some leeway whe it comes to an already small object.

I used a ruler stick. I expanded the headband strap flat, and it measures to 8 1/4", so about 8".

To those who got v2, how's the sound? Does it sound better than he400? I would think it is but i have no experience with planars so...

Also, I read the headfi thread and some seem dissatisfied with them saying it's nowhere near the sound of the v1 so they are returning them.

I bought a pair and expected to get them on tuesday. Im hoping it wont dissapoint. But if it does, ill return them and will get a he4xx and mod it.

I re-measured mine, its about 8.25 inch too

I go by "antdroid" on head-fi.

There's too much negativity surrounding these headphones. I've cancelled before I had to pay return shipping & restocking fees. A big part in purchasing these was the comfort level, unfortunately these appear to be quite the opposite.

while better, it won't be night and day difference. Going from the he400i to he560 you would definitely be in realm of diminishing returns for your money.
Diminishing returns.... great point about every product. Would be interested to hear from those who have heard the 400i, 560 and Edition X. As someone who sees the value in getting these headphones for 1/2 off, is there enough of a jump from the 400i to the Edition X to justify the cost?
