There's a 'rebate' this week for Boise POLARIS® Premium Multipurpose Paper, Letter Paper Size, 24 Lb, FSC® Certified, White, Ream Of 500 Sheets Item # 196769
  • The rebate is issued in the form of a Office Depot 'merchandise gift card'(it is NOT a prepaid debit card like the old Staples rebates).
  • It should work like regular OD gift card, though the weekly ad contains verbiage of merchandise card.
Limit three mail-in savings per household/business.

Submit rebate online at officedepot.rewardpromo.com no later than 9/1/18. Instructions for mail-in (need to download the .pdf):

To receive your $6.00 mail-in savings you must include the following:
1. This completed mail-in savings form or a copy.
2. The original Office Depot® or OfficeMax® sales receipt (or photocopy) showing the item purchased dated 8/05/18 – 8/11/18.
NOTE: All qualified items must be listed on the same receipt.

Just a caution - last two time this 'rebate' was there, never got the rebate. I dont recall the rebate processor. But these OD rebates are fake. Caution all around.

Anyone know if the 20% coupon in store is limited to 1 time use per rewards account? They have done that previously--limited the coupon to a one time use--especially when they are the same coupon code.

Thanks for the post and sure hate to mess with OD rebates--like the rewards so much better. Hoping for better deals with OD. At least they started up again so that's a positive sign.

I used the 20% in two different shopping trips for the same account, no problem.

A4 is not "usual"

Letter size is more commonly used here just like A4 in other parts of the world. A4 is not exactly the same as Letter size but close enough.

"A4 paper measures in at 210mm by 297mm (8.26" by 11.69") whereas US Letter paper measures at 8.5" by 11" (215.9mm by 279.4mm)"

I did 7 different OD rebate offers between Feb and April earlier this year. Got all of them, though some came a bit faster than others. Did you, uh...submit for your rebates?

Have you experienced this in store? My experience has been that the same code is limited to one use online but not limited in store. Have you run into ones limited in store too? Thanks!

I think they were ok to use in store like you said but I wasn't sure if they changed it. I did have some store managers that tried to limit it to one coupon per account and challenge is they knew me so I had to go to various stores.

As far as rebates the first ones took forever to receive and then the last bunch I did came very quickly and then they pulled the plug on them.

Also watch for sales tax holiday in your state. Tx is this weekend 8/10 thru 8/12 and paper was tax exempt during that time. I purchased cases of paper last year tax exempt. Office Depot has the states listed on their website---banner

Once you get the card, is there any way to determine if it's a gift card, and therefore useable on items with rewards, or a merchandise card and would not work with reward offers?

The image at the top of the page here seems to call it a "Merchandise Card." So that's what I'd expect to receive in the mail.

It sounds like you know the difference between that and a GC, but the author of this thread does not. YUGE difference, as you point out.

A Merchandise Card is what you might get when doing a return without a receipt or something like that. It ranks above rewards certificates because it does not expire. But it has no value in terms of earning rewards, either in a 100% back offer, or in required monthly spending to qualify ink recycling rewards.

Like I said, YUGE.
