1) Go to your account page and log in: https://www.idrive.com/idrive/home/account.html
2) Click the drop-down arrow next to your account name in the top-right corner.
3) Click on "Account" at the to of the page towards the left side.
4) Click "view" to the right of Billing Information.
5) Click "Disable auto-renewal" at the bottom of the page.
6) Verify that the screenshot attached to this post pops up on your screen, then click "Stay with iDrive". (I would do screenshots along the way just to have a record -- just in case). Hit "close" next to the Billing Information section, then "view" it again. It should show half the renewal price now. Screenshot it to be safe.

I did this on 2 different accounts.

For folks who aren't aware of idrive, and too lazy to click on the link to find out - this is some kind of online storage service like dropbox etc. They offer plans like 5 TB of cloud backup $6.95 for the first year.

Didn't work for me but thanks anyway. My pop-up had no discount offer. I have the 1TB plan at $70, maybe offer is for other plans only.

Even if you can't get this to work, they'll likely still send a ton of offers via email trying to win you back if you ever look like you're going to quit. They did when I used it at least.

Trying this now but I don't have the option to disable auto-renewal (possibly because my credit card on file had expired). I get an "Update Credit Card" section but I'm afraid if I do that it'll just charge me at the full price. I do see a "cancel my account" link at the very bottom of the page but the pop up that comes up when I click that is not offering me 50% off.

Received the renewal email last week and found this write up on SD. Amazingly these instructions still worked perfectly as of 6/23/19. Saved me 50% / $34. Great job OP!

Thank you for posting this, just worked for me! Saved $34.75! FWIW, I tried this a few months ago, and the 50% offer wasn't there. I wonder if you have to get closer to your renewal date for it to show up.

I tried this and it did indeed save me 50% for this year with my 5TB plan. However, I no longer am enrolled in auto-renewal, so I have to remember to renew in a year. Has anyone else had this happen? Do you know how to reenable the auto renew setting?
