Went to my local best buy, saw this monitor on sale, seemed like quite a good deal for a 1440 monitor. That said, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to monitors so perhaps there's negatives I don't know about.

There are two different models with 27q in the title.
One is the 27q Pavilion IPS model that is currently $305, which is what your info matches.
The other is just 27q, which is the one on sale here and a TN panel
I'd be awesome if you get the pavilion model. Let us know

Bummer, the only other place I see a 27Q that looks like the one from best buy is a foreign website,.and that site says TN panel too. But Best Buy's site states "178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles" which you can't get from a TN panel. And they claim 2ms response time in one area (representative of TN panel) and 5ms response time in another (representation of IPS/PLS panel). So they'got typos galore in their listing.

The interesting thing is that even on HP.com, I can't find a model with just 27q in the title so either Best Buy has the wrong model up for this posting, or something else is going on.
Either way, I'd be interested to see what they have for you at the store since the pavilion one doesn't seem to be carried in stores
This might be helpful for getting the specs on this model. There is another 27q model when you search on the site, but this seems to be the one listed on sale.
Under the details section you can see the UPC, googling the UPC says its Model 3FV90AA, which HP's site says is TN
This model doesn't appear to be carried by anyone in the US except Best Buy. Not even HP's own website lists it, but rather have to go to HP's foreign sites.
I was in my local store this evening and can confirm 100% that this is a TN panel. This monitor was on display and there's major color shift when viewed from a lower angle. Sorry guys, not the sleeper IPS monitor we were hoping for.
