i agree. gamecube uses larger funkier proprietary cards, but the internet still has SD card adapters.
This will work with wii and the 2DS/3DS, but keep in mind that the newer versions use microSD, not SD. there is no adapter I know of that you can use to make SD smaller...
These original SD cards are smaaaallllllll, especially if you want to try loading games on them. The only reason you would go with one of these over a better SD card is if you are a total nintendo purist and you're trying to complete your set.

There is one other reason I can think of.
Some of the older systems may have issues addressing the newer SDXC and SDHC cards, which are the only format most retailers (particularly the likes of Best Buy and Microcenter) carry in store. You can get an SDHC card of lower capacity (down to 2GB no problem) but if your hardware won't read it, you'll need to find a straight SD card like this. Yeah, it won't need to be Nintendo branded but it may need to be SD and not SDHC or SDXC.
I picked up a used digital camera from craigslist (for my young son to play with so he won't ask for mine - think of it as a $15 insurance policy to protect my much more expensive camera) and ran into exactly this problem. I put an SDXC card in and it refused to read it, formatting and partitioning made no difference - I had to use only SD. In which case I should probably buy a few more at this price so I don't have to buy more off of ebay
If you are into flash carts these are useful. You don't really need a 32gb card to store all the roms for the NES or 2600 and seeing as how the average sd card is going to run you 10 bucks.....
So I got 10 of them shipped to me for about $15. They are not all the same as pictured. 2 Are SanDIsk for Wii, 5 are regular 2gb Toshiba memory cards, 1 a PNY optima 2gb SD card, 1 a regular SanDisk card, and 1 what looks like a used PNY sd card. WTF? All came in same package from gamestop.com in Grapevine TX.
Did anyone else order these and what did you get? This is what I got; I tried to use the off brand ones and complete fail, especially the used looking PNY card. Would not recognize card. I also tried it on my computer, nothing. Tried it in my camera, nothing. The white "sandisk for wii" and blue Toshiba cards seem to function.

Tell me you didn't pay shipping for these.
I grabbed a couple in store, I got 1 "Sandisk for Wii" and one of the blue Toshiba, but I haven't tried them. maybe yours need formatting?

Edit: and what about Nintendo 2DS/3DS family? Does it work too?
