Costco Wholesale.com is selling 2-Pack $50 Blue Apron Gift Cards on sale for $64.99. This deal is only for Costco Members. Gift cards are shipped free.

These are normally $79.99 for the 2-pack. However, there is an additional $15 off between 8/27/18-9/2/18.

eGift Card version is apparently out of stock (¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Checked in store (Northern VA) and the GC's were no longer on the shelf/

I have tried home chef, blue apron, hello fresh and plated.

IMHO:

1st. Plated: it is much more premium. The recipes are more complex and take more time but they are actually restaurant quality. I dont feel I am doing regular food with them. Once you try plated you see the other ones meh. Also they are the only ones with a plan for 4 adult portions 2 times a week. That way we only cook two times and have food for 4 days.

2nd. Hello Fresh: their recipes are always good and they have a big variety. They also offer gourmet meals for $6 extra per person that are fantastic but IMHO these "premium ones" are like the regular ones from Plated. Hello fresh have really good ingredients too and they allow to pause and skip very easy.

3. Home chef: their recipes are good. I still think hello fresh are a little better. Home chef recipies are simple. They are ALWAYS on discount. For some reason you always get a $10 credit everyweek. And if you stop or cancel they give you more credit lol.

4. Blue apron: dont get me wrong. Blue apron is still really good also. But I would not pay full price for it never. Specially considering Plated and HelloFresh cost the same and are waaaay better. Blue apron recipies are very easy to make, in fact they are too easy and simple. So I only do blue apron when they have a promo like these gift cards on sale. Even then, I feel like I am paying a preimium for regular simple recipes.
Don't sit on these. The company is still losing money hand over fist.

Their stock has dropped dramatically since their IPO and seed money will soon be depleted. Vultures are circling...
These meal kit delivery services definitely aren't gonna save you money IMO. For me it's more the fact that it saves me time meal planning and grocery shopping. It also introduces me to new recipes and flavors. And the meals are pretty healthy. But they don't save you time spent cooking and they don't save you money...I buy the max Costco GC when it goes on sale to minimize the cost!

BTW thanks and reps to the OP Applause

Been waiting for these to show back up. They took the Blue Apron gift cards off the website for a while and my local store never has them on the shelf.

Would be nice to have the e-Gift Cards, but it's free shipping for the physical ones. This drops the cost per meal for Blue Apron to about $6.50 per person.

how do you like this vs regular grocery shopping? I tried it once and thought it's really high quality, but don't see the $$$ advantage if there is any

In for two to give this a try. Figure I'm going to pay for food anyway, and this way I can save time meal planning a couple nights a week.

I am terrible with coming up with meal ideas. These meals have been great.

The one item my wife said she loved is getting the exact amount of a specific ingredients that otherwise you would probably never use again or would have to get a large quantity.

My wife and I cook together when doing Blue Apron. She will cut/chop. I will make the marinated, grate the cheese, and cook the meat. Pretty enjoyable cooking actually.

Thank you for posting this! My gift cards from last time just ran out!

In May I got $500 for $325 (eGift cards then)... skipped some weeks, but it resulted in 14 meals shipped for family of four. Def worth it to me.

Homechef is far better. Blue Apron sucks for non-meat dishes.

Just placed my order online.

I got in during a ridiculously good deal for blue apron. Originally planned on getting my 4 meals (2 weeks) at the discounted price, and then canceling. Guess what? Me, the pickiest eater ever, loves this. I ate capers last week!! They were delicious! I picked out a bobs burger meal for the other one, the whole house smelled like yum. Husband is the one who prepares these blue apron meals, he's commented on the high quality of the ingredients. I just bought $500 in gcs. They're amazing.

Blue Apron is really targeted for people who has no preference about your next meal. Also it can be a daunting task for someone who didn't cook for a while as well. I would only get Blue Apron if you want to learn and to enjoy cooking. It's not to save money or even time. For me, I'm very picky on what I eat.

Thank you! I joined blueapron and homechef when swagbucks had a deal that made a week of them better than free. I've ordered a few times since then because it really is so convenient. I like having new ideas for dinner, and portioned and delivered to my door is just awesome. They are waaaaay more expensive than just going to the store, but sometimes I'm willing to pay for the convenience. Plus, one of them (I think its blueapron) sends out discounts every so often.

I can't do it. They need to allow more parameters to be set in their meal choices.
