The last time I couldn't even cancel afterward because the cancel button did nothing at all.
Here's a tip to follow when using points: Never review your purchase from the shopping cart. I think it's there where your points are removed. You review your purchase and then click buy, and they're suddenly removed.
Then, you have to call them up, get routed around again and again, all while talking to customer service reps you can't really understand, who don't try to help you at all.
Then, you're stuck with refusing the purchase as the only way to cancel it and get your money back. It's doable. But it's all a real hassle just to try to save a few bucks.

Imagine the negotiating strength KMart had: Us or nothing for 3 years. The landowner probably would have offered some pretty sweet terms... but no. Kmart wasn't interested.
The end is near.
