that 30 year old keyboard is STILL popular 30 years later. That should tell you something.

Yes, they take up a bit of real estate, but my desk is plenty big at work and at home.
Wireless isn't for everybody. Frequencies can clash causing keyboards and mice to not work well. Per the reviews, this wired keyboard is still a good buy if you want something ergonomic.
nope...
still very popular, hence it still being a manufactured and sold item for "30 years"... have been using them at work for 11ish years (yes, the same one, i bought a backup a few years back but haven't needed it), they're absolutely fantastic keyboards. ergonomics of it really help with wrist issues over time.

wireless is a pain and unnecessary in almost all locations, last thing i want is another thing to charge or change batteries in... also, they're not allowed at my job, so it's not really an option Wink

on the deal-
they've been cheaper, far cheaper, but it's a great keyboard for the money if somebody wants one now.

Thank you for the post. This is not the best price I have ever seen on this keyboard, but I needed some for work to keep as spares and was waiting for a decent price. I have several users that need these for ergonomics and they don't last forever.

They really need to make this thing with no ten key. It ceases to be ergo when it is two feet wide triggering shoulder strain a few years early. I stopped using this for this reason about 9-10 years ago. 10keyless logi pro at home now because the family doesnt like ergo and wireless microsoft ergo board at work. Unfortunately the wireless one is not the best quality. I am on my third one in 8 years.

Used to go for around $18~$20 from either Newegg or Newegg Business but I think it has at least been a year or two since the price was that low.

Love mine. Have had it for a long time and it is still working just fine. So comfortable to type on. Now I can't stand regular layout keyboard anymore. And no wireless for me. My mouse is Logitech G700S which is wireless but I take out the rechargeable batteries and leave the charging cable plugged in to the USB port and mouse which turns it into a wired mouse.

people either love these, or hate them. there is no middle ground. i was raised on a natural keyboard, so using anything else for an extended amount of time is a struggle.

the one complaint with this latest revision is that if a drop of water touches the keyboard, buttons will stop working permanently.

i always keep at least two extra on hand just incase microsoft discontinues the line. other MS hardware that has been discontinued sells for exorbitant prices on ebay because ergo fanboys like me get so attached. the MS natural laser mouse 6000 ($40ish retail) often sells in the $300-400 range.

If you don't mind the extra cost, you can buy keyboard skins. The downside is it does take some getting used to or not as some really hate it.

I like the layout, but they need to make a mechanical version.

I have been using one of these at work where I do the most keyboard use for about 13 years. These keyboards seem to just last. I remember getting my original one for around $20 dollars and have seen them as low as $10.

...and are still popular 30yrs later - as evidenced by the three desktop computers in my home each having one. I much prefer typing on these - my wrists don't get as sore after 3+ hours of typing.

Thanks, OP - going to go pick up another one.....

Some people prefer to have a super slim, low-profile, paper thin, $100 wireless keyboard/mouse to match their ultra premium computer.
...Others prefer to NOT have their hands cramp up while typing.

I recently had the pleasure of owning an Apple Magic Keyboard 2.
The absolute most NON-ergonomic keyboard I've ever used (even the Surface keyboard can be propped up a little bit).
It's nice to look at, but not functional in the slightest.
