I hate when its an add on but its a good price. I always add a bit of extra cheese when I make this.
What cheese do you add? Like shredded cheddar or the Kraft powder or what? I'm always curious to how people modify theirs cause I'm addicted to this stuff.

I add shredded cheddar, although a portion of a block of cream cheese goes really well. But I suppose you could add some velveeta instead.
Yeah I can't even get the stuff down anymore. They changed something about it to skimp on costs production obviously from when we were growing up for sure.
But when I last tried it and made it according to the box directions, it literally triggered my gag reflex..UGH that texture just thinking about it still makes me wanna gag.
It's no longer saucy enough and that sticky crinkly sound when you stir it is also disgusting.
If you want to be able to try to actually enjoy it, you need to add more milk, more butter and more cheese powder (or less noodles like you said) until you find the right mix of ingredients that make it somewhat like it used to be.

Bloggers were going on a rampage about the dyes, yellow 5, etc in KD so they changed the formula recently.
Oh just in case you guys don't eat a lot or order multiple cases, FYI the eat-by date on these is roughly 6 months from purchase. Boxes off the shelf I see usually between 12 to 18 months.

With real Mac n cheese made from scratch baked I add 4 types of cheese and tomato sauce w/ oregno. For box Mac n cheese I add a bit of shredded extra sharp and some tomato sauce regular to the mix. Works better with velveta or the Kraft Mac n cheese that has the instant sauce liquid cheese.

It's $10, how amazon decides these things eludes me.

Minus this being an addon, this is a good deal...repped!

I throw out 1/3 of the noodles.

Add-ons annoy the crap out of me. I wish they would allow you to combine a limited number of add-ons into your monthly 5+ item S&S shipment.
