I have been buying these from aliexpress for $12; have 3x currently for my boys.
They work great with Philips SHP9500, sound quality is good for gaming.
Do they break, yes in about a year, but my boys are also dump their headphones and they fall.
As an aside, the Philips headphone are amazing, no mods required for the mic, and so comfortable. Wish they were not discontinued.
Damn I just bought this last week
I've owned a boompro for 4 years.. not the same one because it broke after the first year. V-moda wouldn't replace it and offered me 20% off a new one. The new lasted 18 months. V-moda offered me 50% off this time but I don't want a product that needs replacing every 1-2 years. Even at 50%. So now I have the massdrop version and so far so good.
I would stay away unless you don't mind it only lasting until after the warranty is up.

It can be used on the ATH-m50x after the cable lock is removed from the left earphone and a longer 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter is used on the BoomPro.
I use something similar to this[a.co] adapter Amazon lists as commonly purchased with the BoomPro.
I did the same thing with my m40x, which has the same cable lock mechanism as the m50x. It works well and I have no issues for about a year of doing this mod.

I have this one and it caused feedback/grounding loop with my DAC, so I ended up not using it and kept my lav mic. As for audio quality, it sounded ok, but I think my 15 dollar lav mic is better, except that it picks up more of my keyboard than this one. Also, I wish the mic was a bit more rigid, as over time it would slowly drop below from where I placed it.
All that said, I think at this price point it's worth it...if you have headphones that can work with it and if you don't have any possible grounding feedback issues, it should be ok.

I use these for skype on my pc and with my ps4. They work great and turn a good pair of headphones into an impressive headset. I havent been able to get them to work with my XB1 though when attached to my controller. Anybody know of a method to get that working? Or know if that's not possible.
I currently use the V-moda boompro on my Sennheiser HD 598 se's
i also bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 which slips into the space that is left after you take out the headphone cable locking piece.
There's videos out there and it's pretty simple to do. Clean look without to shell out the money and ruin the look like an antlion mod mic.(not a fan of the look of it on the headphones plus, it has it's own cable, this one you use one cable. has worked really well for the two years i've had it.

Video you linked follows the process well. All you'll need is a small screwdriver. Completely reversable.
You can still use the original cables after this is done as well, just they will be able to be unplugged without twisting.

Lol. I bought this like 3 weeks ago. Didn't think this would ever go on sale. 💔
