I agree that the 8gb version is the way to go... more future proof. 8gb version was just $209 after rebate for a Gigabyte on Amazon.
I'd rather have the Sapphire 8gb, but I sprung on the Gigabyte, because I needed one now.
The prices are yoyoing... it's up to $290 now.
If 4gb is enough atleast the Sapphire is a better brand.
It is not futureproof whatsoever, games do not utilize textures that large, and even if they did, the 8gb card could hold the textures, but wouldn't be able to run at high enough res to take advantage of those textures.
