Best Buy has the 55" Vizio P55-F1 P-Series 4K UHD HDR Smart LED HDTV on sale for $749.99 which matches the front page deal from July even though it did go lower to $700 a few weeks ago. Still a great price for this TV.

Does this 55" version have an IPS panel & the 65" version a VA panel? I recall reading that in a review but I can't find it again. It advised that the 55" was not as good compared to the 65" because of the panels. Can someone confirm & give an opinion?

Same panels just more local zones in the 65" that's why bigger is better with this tv

All P & PQ Series are VA.

I prefer VA since the blacks are really good (great for a dark room, I sit close relatively to the TV too). IPS has better viewing angle, but not drastic. So if your TV is in a wide space, IPS might be better option. Overall depends on your usage
