Always. MLC > TLC any day. But TLC is good enough for most people. MLC is good for people who does video editing, basically who does things that write to the drive a lot. If you don't do it, TLC is a little cheaper.

To clarify 3D TLC is about as good as 2D MLC. 3D MLC > 3D TLC. No newer drives use 2D MLC anymore but just in case you're comparing older, like 2016 and older drives, to this one.
