just buy a cheap enclosure and you'll have 1tb+ of storage and MORE than enough to keep your most frequently used games on the internal SSD...

Pretty slow write speed you are probably better with other drives in this price range. Most likely DRAMless.

Get one with UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol). Almost all of them do already but if you go really cheap it may not support it.

Specific examples that I've tried are the 2.5" AmazonBasics enclosure and the 2.5" Orico clear case enclosure.
