Both the floor standing and bookshelf speakers are top rated in their respective price ranges.

Heard the B6.2 bookshelves at AXPONA, they sounded amazing. If I didn't already have about 25 speakers in the house I would grab a pair.

These have no 1-Star reviews on Amazon out of 45 total.

None.

Think about that.

So for these, what's the cheapest 2-channel amplifier that would do them justice?

My thinking is: i have a little $30 Lepai 2020 amp that works pretty well with the legendary AJ Pioneer bookshelves - would it be enough for these to be an appreciable step up, or would I need to buy a new small amplifier too?

While the bookshelf speakers are nice, the price isn't that great. They've been as low as $229 dollars not even 15 days ago.

I've been looking at the subwoofer, but there's not a ton of reviews out there. Does anyone have one, or compared it others? Thanks!

I've been looking at these vs the kef q100 for a couple of weeks now. I heard the kef's had better sound quality but there matching center is very expensive. Alot of people usually recommend using a third kef q100 as a center as well.

I guess my question is am I better off with a set like the elac with the matching center or 3 q100(or any other speaker that may be worth looking at)? I'd be matching either system with a svs pb 1000 sub and probably get cheaper surrounds for the meantime. This setup would be primarily for movies and tv shows and occasionally music. Any advice would be appreciated.

the SVS sub definitely a good choice. I went for a NSD-12. They may go on sale again in the next month or so BF, but no guarantees. As for KEF vs Elacs, from my research, it seems that KEFs are bright until you get to higher dollar versions such as the QC650/750 6.5" equivalents, but those cost significantly more than the ELACs Debut 2.0s. The ELACs are neutral and far better than the AJ Pioneers, which are quite warm. I have the latter and am getting the ELAC center today because the dialog is a bit too muddy for my liking. The ELACs are tonally relatively well matched compared to the AJ Pioneers, but I'll likely upgrade the fronts as well if I like the center. It's all in what tonal quality you like at this price point.

SVS Ultra's hands down! If you're getting a good sub, get some good speakers. In fact I would put your money in your Left and Right channel and purchase a subwoofer and center channel later.

SVS Ultra bookshelf will crap all over ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2 with a SVS sub and they're almost the same price when you consider the sub and/or center channel.

I went A/B'd this center vs the C1 and I liked the C1 better. The Debut center is HUUUUUGE, and had a little more depth but I liked the tonality and clarity of the C1 better.

Mind you acoustics etc play a big role in comparing speakers. I have Denon x1400 and ran audessey on both centers so it was a fair comparison.
