What this is: Reimbursement from Gigwalk.com for up to $25, to buy delivery from local restaurants using DoorDash and using Gigwalk's private portal that they are testing.

What you do: Read the FAQ [zendesk.com] on the instructions from Gigwalk on what you need to do.

Only available in several major cities. I know this works in Washington DC/Arlington VA area. Attached are some images of other cities where this is active as well, includes AT LEAST: Chicago/Madison/Milwaukee; Minneapolis/St Paul; Omaha/De Moines; Denver/Salt Late; Boise/Spokan/Calgary; and others.

Ok, this post might sound weird, particularly from such an old company that hasn't really been on slickdeals since 2014 and is quiet on the web. Regardless, Gigwalk.com is running a 3-4 week long gig in several major cities for their client DoorDash who is testing a new service. Below is a link to the Gigwalk help desk that tells you how the gig works, what you need to download, what steps you have to take and how payment works. I've done this once already, it's very tedious for say 1/2 hr of screen shots, but the upside, is that $25 is reimbursed on the food order that is delivered to your home from dozens of local restaurant options. And you can do this at least 4 times a week. Follow the instructions TO THE T and you won't have a problem. Being detail oriented is critical for this gig.

There is a laughable video [youtube.com] they created that seems less than legit, but it is real.

Other than being a gigwalker myself, I do not work for the company, though I'm always looking for a slickdeal.

click the link they posted and look at the related articles to the left of the text. Has all your questions answered.

But short answer: You probably will not want to do this due to it taking a few too many steps and some reading before jumping in. EDIT: And he posted a damn FAQ link that clearly answers HOW to do...

The FOPA project should not really be considered a "deal." It's a job, offered through several different mystery shopping companies since earlier this year. Though the guidelines are relatively simple to understand and follow relative to other mystery shopping jobs, it's still work that is being done for pay. I think most people on SD would not be immediately comfortable going to replicate this deal and finding that in order to do so, they will need to accept an ICA (Independent Contractor Agreement), provide their SSN, and potentially receive a 1099 on the reimbursement earnings.

A fair set of comments - I was looking at it from the perspective of "I was going to order food anyway". Also, as I signed up, I don't recall giving a social security number (to be fair, I may have had an adult beverage or two at the time) but if one does do over $1K of activity for any company, they are likely to receive a 1099, so that is fair to point out. Though also fair is that any deal where a user is receiving consideration/value, that those things also need to be self reported to the IRS. Credit Card bonus and bank account bonus come to mind, but those almost always spit out a 1099. This deal which only last 4 weeks is probably only for a subset of slick dealers.

Thanks for posting about this. 4 meals delivered each week from the restaurants of my choice, basically for free? I'm in.

I did my first one last night and already got the $25 reimbursement. Will do another tonight.

I've done this 3 times already and am about to do my 4th this week. This deal is legit. I got reimbursed the first two times. The third time I kept receiving an error at checkout, took screenshots of the error, and as promised was reimbursed $5 for discovering an error. It almost seems too good to be true, can anyone confirm that the client is actually Door Dash? I did not have to give out my social security number whatsoever. Some things seemed shady to me though like they have you create a brand new email account you use for nothing else, and they have you place your order in a private browser window?

I got this referral from another mystery shopping company and have been doing it as well. The actual company that I needed to register with was redquanta [redquanta.com], but the shops are not visible on the portal. The only downside is that the app only shows a tiny radius from your home, so there are limited restaurants, and you can't order from the same place twice.

Put a comment on the gig. Sometimes the mods need a wake up call.
