Anyone considering this needs to seriously take into account the room in which they'll be using it. If you have vaulted ceilings, high ceilings, or some sort of noise isolating treatment in your ceilings, these will not work well. There will also be a very small sweet spot in which the reflected height effect (the Atmos) will be effective.

Things of note, you'll want a TV that has ARC. If you don't know what this is, it stands for Audio Return Channel. So when used, the audio is passed back along the HDMI cable to the sound bar. If you go trying to set up multiple inputs into the sound bar, you're going to get frustrated, and you may not always be utilizing the sound bar to its fullest potential. Meaning if you sourced it with the optical cable, it will only get Dolby digital, and only then if the TV actually outputs 5.1 from optical when being sourced from HDMI.

Second, the rear speakers are "wireless" in that they are tethered to the wireless sub. If you don't have a good place to keep the sub by where you're watching, you're going to have visible cables.

Third, these honestly sound pretty good considering they have no tweeters and only use full range drivers. I have two older Vizio sound bars, and they both work flawlessly. I have an old VSB-200, and the 2013 42" 5.1 model sound bar. All things considered, are these going to replace real home theater Atmos set ups? Of course not. They do sound very good for what they are, though, and given the right positioning (untreated ceiling height 7-9') and the correct listening distance, they can give a person a good perception of height speakers.

Hope that helps.
to the two people arguing and taking this thread, off topic, your posts have been removed. Please stay focused on the deal. thank you.
You are correct.. They are not identical. I owned the non atmos version but returned it for the atmos. The non atmos does not pass 4K on the hdmi arc. The soundbar, surround speakers and sub are much bigger. The difference in sound is noticeable. The atmos version is louder and clearer.

This is an awesome deal, best and only atmos speaker you can find at this price. Too bad I couldn't wait and bought it for regular price. I'm still happy and satisfied though.

Well it has a 4.9/5 at Sam's Club - https://www.samsclub.com/sams/viz...2480024.ip

and at Best Buy it has a 3.9/5 - https://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizi...Id=6288824

I'd say Costco's warranty is amazing though if you ever had problems, then you can also buy Squaretrade for it.

I'm about ready for an upgrade, I have the original surround vizio sound bar. I'll try to have BB PM it since I'm not a costco member.

I want to get this to pair with my new Samsung qled tv that I purchased recently. However I read that Samsung doesn't support Atmos, does anyone know if that's a temporary issue or it's the hardware of the TV?

You can always buy a membership and do a partial refund for the unused part if you wish?

Can someone help explain the atmos aspect of it?

I know you need either upward firing or ceiling mounted speakers for atmos?

Does the soundbar have upward firing speakers in it which allows it to product atmos effects?

Or is it just capable of decoding an atmos signal and thus labeled as an atmos system?

It sounds like the rear speakers have speakers on top that fire upward. https://www.tomsguide.com/us/vizi...-5768.html

edit: I'm wrong. The front soundbar has two up-firing speakers on the center left and center right.
