Destiny 2 (PC Digital Download) Expired

As soon as you login to the game you'll be greeted by two advertisements on your home screen. The first is to buy Forsaken, an expansion which is mandatory to actually play the game outside of the short storyline and the other is to buy the annual pass. You'll also be given daily missions which when you go to them will pop-up and ask you to buy two other expansions, at least until you buy Forsaken which includes those smaller expansions. The annual pass advertisement will never go away until you buy it too.

And take note that Destiny 2 on PC essentially died the first week it was released due to Bungie's decision to not implement text chat. They later added it with very limited functionality (and it's still turned off by default) but the damage was done. Combined with the fact that there is no matchmaking for endgame content it's just an empty game with no player retention.

If you're looking for a game of similar archetype that didn't make idiotic design choices, doesn't place in-game advertisements on your home screen, has matchmaking and has lots of player communication features... try The Division. Unlike Bungie which is trying to bring back players using a free introductory version, The Division brought back players by actually fixing what players didn't like about it. By the time you beat the game you'll have earned enough uplay achievement points to get a 20% any ubisoft game code too.

Enjoy a poorly developed game that requires you to BUY expansions to continue to play.
Granted Forsaken does bring the enjoyment back to the game be prepared to BUY yet even more DLCs for even more play-ability.
Black Armory comes out in December and there is another DLC coming in either spring or summer (Annual Pass).
