Most of these digital copies are available either UltraViolet or MoviesAnywhere, which is like a vault which holds your licenses and can be viewed across different digital vendors.

They in turn can also shut down but hopefully not.

yes costs starting at $2 to convert movies to digital

all signs of walmart investing more money into vudu in the future. they're going to start creating content with MGM studios specifically for vudu.

I don't think titles added under D2D go to your UV library. Also, it seems like UV is going away.

I think if VUDU goes down your digital rights to those movies will also go away. However, right now, VUDU is going strong.

titles converted on my D2D show up on movies anywhere, but not so sure about UV. like you said UV is going away.

I take it back. It's been a while since I checked. My D2D purchases do show up in my UV library, though I'm not sure if that is a guarantee if VUDU ever goes away.
