SlickdealsForumsDeal TalkCanon EOS 6D Mark II DSLR Camera (Body Only) $1299.00, Canon EOS 6D Mark II DSLR Camera w/ 24-105mm f/4L II Lens $2199.00 & More + FS
So basically you are saying that video is the future of photo 🙄🤔
Nope... If you strickly use it for photos, you can get it. But... If you have any plans to do videos, forget Canon. That's is what I mean. Don't get me wrong.. I have invested 2k on Canon lenses.
Canon has crappy codecs for 4k video. Also, the video is too much cropped. Sony and several others handle 4k much better. I visited a local camera store. They highly recommend Sony mirrorless. One guy said he has several Canon cameras and lenses, but lately he shoots only with Sony a7 iii.
Is it worth it to wait for BF or this will be close enough. Both B&H and Adorama have great return policies though.
I pulled the trigger at Adorama on a 6D ii, with the grip, the kit, the pixma-100 printer with paper and the 24-105 STM lens. Total was just over $2k.
I don't really want the printer, just using it for the $350 rebate. Will send in the rebate, and sell the printer on CL or eBae. Should be able to get at least $200 for an unused printer. If not, I may keep it.
That puts the camera kit at $2068 - $350 - $200 = $1518. Considering the lens is worth at least $350 (That's canon's refurb price right now), and the grip is about $150 - that puts the camera at $1000 or so.
Seems like a deal that will be tough to beat in three days.

I subscribe to the "use a DSLR to take pictures, and a video camera for videos" philosophy.
The Sony aiii has great specs. But, it's about $2000.
Not to mention, it's a brand new platform. The lenses for the camera are expensive, and there won't be many on the used market for some time.
You can grab the 6dii that takes decent video (suitable for blogging or social media) with a decent lens (24-105 STM), a grip, and a printer and lots of other kit for $2068.
There's a $350 rebate in the printer as well, so that's basically free.
Don't want the printer? Sell it for another couple hundred and put that $500 towards a nice zoom lens (I'm going for the EF 70-300 f4/5.6).
You'll end up with a good camera, two decent lenses (or a lens and a printer), and a grip and extra stuff for the price of the new Sony.

Keep in mind that 6dii is the cheapest ff dslr you can buy. So the comparison is not reasonable. Also cant make this conclusion on 4k videos capabilities alone.

Camera + lens packages are less hot. I'd probably wait until later this month for better deals
What is the target price for an 80D body this season?

Why do you say that?
