LG has proven to build in wattage power to compensate for lower tier quality speaker enclosures, and electronics - especially communications tech surrounding bluetooth and pairing memory/chips. Factor this in while evaluating this.

Bought this last year for 150 on SD https://slickdeals.net/f/11052627-lg-sj4r-4-1-ch-sound-bar-surround-system-w-wireless-subwoofer-150-....

I'm impressed with this. I definitely can't ask for a better one for an apartment/condo. The surround effects are very good on Netflix (look for titles with 5.1). My only gripe is that this does not have a display, so you are really guessing the volume level.

Please read the reviews. The speakers are wireless from the soundbar not totally wireless as the rear speakers need to be plugged into a receiver then to a power outlet. I almost bit on this deal, but passed because I want complete rear wireless.

Do you have to buy a receiver for these or do they just connect though HDMI? Can it be connected to benq projector through HDMI?

Just HDMI and the rear speakers are wireless (they are wired to the subwoofer which is wireless)

How do these soundbars such as this one process surround sound? I thought it would have to be "Dolby Digital" to be able to decode and process the digital audio tracks. This product has no reference to it being Dolby Digital 5.1 capable. So is it just tossing some extra noise to the rear speakers, or is it properly separating each channel as intended by the film studio?

Do you mean that you want rear wireless speakers that run on battery power? They need to plug into something, unless you want to replace batteries every week.
