FYI, these are going to continue to drop due to the new LG panels coming out that has wide color gamut: LM340UW5

Most likely a new alienware monitor will be coming using this panel in the coming months. The LG 34GK950G was released already using the new panel.

Should see sub $600 by early jan.

How is this monitor for FPS? I have a 1080ti and 2700x. Currently using a 60hz Monitor. Would I be better off with 1440p with higher refresh rates or is this fast enough?

For FPS, some people don't like higher than 27" cuz of farther eye travel.. that's if you're serious about gaming.

Pulled the trigger on this one in case the Acer Predator x34P doesn't go on sale. Sucks i get hit with tax so it's basically 800 instead of that nice 720
But free returns so I'll just return it if i find a better deal

Ah, bummer, I just got this with the ebay coupon (but, direct from dell's store page on ebay, so I know the warranty will be honored). Oh well, these are all pretty great deals.

Dell is selling the 1080p version of this monitor (AW3418HW) on friday as a "doorbuster" for $699 lol >_<. It would be pretty insane if this one went any lower.

It looks like some other folks have the skinny on how warranty works ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors..._does_the/ ) TL;DR: the warranty may start as soon as it ships from dell; if this has been sitting in newegg's inventory then the clock might be ticking on the warranty.

I'd call dell to confirm how this is all supposed to work.
