M510 mouse as well but reviews say the new one (redesigned in 2016) is not as good as the old ones from many years ago (tracking and left button not as good)

Question on the Z906 5.1 system....

I read on the Wikipedia Logitech device page that the Z906 was introduced in 2011.

Is this set really 8-9 years old with 8-9 year old technology? Or, is it merely the product name/line that is 8-9 years old? E.g. A 2019 of say a Ford F-150 is much different from a 2011 F-150 even though they carry the same brand and model moniker.

I just placed my order... Yes they are really that old. I would hope by now that all/any of the problems have been worked out. It's like when I was searching for a microwave... I figured out that they don't make new models every year... Only every 2-3 years.

Speaker tech doesn't really advance much, its more a matter of specs and component quality.

an 8" subwoofer is an 8" subwoofer, many times newer models cut corners or sacrifice sound quality for arbitrary aesthetics.
