Luna Display turns your iPad into a wireless second display for Mac. Available for Mini DisplayPort or USB-C, Luna sets up in seconds and instantly works with your existing Wi-Fi.
Your purchase includes the Luna hardware unit (USB-C or Mini DisplayPort) along with access to the free Luna Display Mac and iPad apps.
Looking forward to seeing first hand how well this works. It's supposedly a lot less glitchy than Duet simply because it uses hardware instead of software to extend the display.
I decided to get the displayport version as I'm unable to use the usbc version and while Im tempted to buy a mac mini, I cant justify the expense of a new one now.
Just buy Duet Display and add your own fit-Headless HDMI adapter for $10, and the functionality is exactly the same. Unless there's something I'm missing??

So this has me intrigued, and I'll consider replacing my Duet Display config.
I realize there's both USB-C and mini DP options. Problem is, I'm not sure which Mac I'd like to use it on: my iMac Pro or Late 2014 Mac mini. Is there something that would effectively take HDMI or mini DP to USB-C in this situation?
Do you guys know if it's possible to use this with usb-C to display adapter? For future proof I would prefer to go with the usb-c version, but I don't have any device to support this right now. My iPad Pro is probably the newest device from Apple, and I'm still running my 2011 MacBook Pro. Will probably update to the new MacBook Pro or Mac mini, but not anytime soon. I think getting the usb-c version is probably the best?

I'm in the same boat as you. According to this page on their website, the answer is no... kind of?
It says it does not support adapters but it is worded in away that makes it seem like they just cant guarantee that an adapter will work. I wonder if any users have had any luck using an adapter.

Most USB-C adapters and docks won't work with it because the majority of them didn't implement the DisplayPort protocol on their USB-C ports. If the adapter's USB-C port supports video out (as in, it outputs an image to a display via USB-C to DisplayPort or HDMI cable), Luna Display should work with it.
Any chance this deal will be back this Christmas ? Love to give this a try.
Try Duet Display @ $10. It now has hardware acceleration.
I've been a Duet user for many years. I almost bit on this Luna Display deal when it was on sale. A few days later Duet was updated, and it works amazingly well.
