When they break / catch on fire they don't want you to be able to remember what brand they were to go back and write a review.

It also makes trademark registration easier to pick things so random that they will not have been used anywhere.

Yep this is literally it. They know they're selling junk. Now with that said, sometimes junk is great for a travel charger or to keep as a spare in your work backpack...
