i have the prior version but it looks pretty much the same.. this is a must have if you use a masterbuilt smoker.. puts out a much better smoke without need to refill as often

How would this defer then just getting the Amazen pellet tray and putting it inside the smoker.

With the masterbuilt smokers you don't get as generous of airflow as other smokers so the pellet trays have a bit more difficult time producing and maintaining smoke.
