I'd say any ASUS X470 or any AsRock X470 motherboards, MSI is fine as well, I'd skip Gigabyte though. You'd pay a pretty penny for the ASUS board though, but they have all of that fancy RGB stuff you like.

Well, Zen 2 is basically, 4 months away or so, up to you. I'm waiting, not desperate enough, but I do know that Zen 2 will be a bigger jump than Zen to Zen+.

Incorrect. It will work. AM4 socket is supported from first gen Zen (2017) to 4th gen Zen in (2020). It will work, though the motherboard will need a bios update, first.

Fabrication has nothing to do with sockets. This is bad information. It depends on the motherboard... most motherboards have a BIOS update that allows you to run the 2XXX series Ryzen chips on B350 and X370 motherboards. I would highly recommend the OP look at the BIOS updates for his motherboard before upgrading.

All 2700x's ship with the wraith prism cooler as far as i know.

This comes with a very good cooler. No need to upgrade. I have the 2700 non X and upgraded, but the 2700X comes with a nicer cooler.
