Reduced from $9.99. Ideal for those looking to port landline phone # to Google Voice, or just test Ting's service. I did the former recently, using Ting SIM card on a spare cell phone, without benefit of this promo. Note: $30 credit is only available to new accounts.

UPDATE: Price is $4.99 as of 12/31/18, same as Best Buy's.

it is and they are known to ban accounts if they find you are using them just to port

How easy is to get their account and pin information?

Do they have login to account option to access account and pin?

New to Ting, any suggestion are highly appreciated. This is just for port in use only

Their website is designed well and once your lines are activated you will see your account number and pin number generated after an hour or so (used them like 10 months ago) . But as the other poster said, they will ban you/your email address and credit card number once they see you port right away. And they will not honor the $30 credit. So this is best to use for a 1 time port. If you have multiple lines port in and port out the whole lines and say bye to Ting.

$6 shipping kills the deal for those without a MC B&M nearby

How many months will $30 get you? Some of these port in deals now require you have multiple months of paid service.

Best Buy has the kit for $4.99, https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ting...Id=6134436. More stores, better chance of avoiding shipping.

Check Microcenter link. Credit appears to be limited to one per new account, not per line. Credit will still be $30 for multiple lines on a single account.

Their pricing is based on usage. If you use your phone only on wifi, as I do, then you might get three or so months. I pay $6/month in fixed line charge plus fees and taxes, the largest being E911.

If you stay with them longer yes you would. But if you use them to port in and then port out after a few days, they won't give you the credit.

I came to Ting through a credit promotion much like this one, though a few years ago. From experience and wording I've seen of similar Ting promos, credit will appear in your account soon after you activate. Recently, I ported landline # to the provider as an additional line, staying close to a month before porting out to Google Voice once I found a good deal on the Obi200.

Ting handled everything very quickly and professionally. I was not blacklisted, got no finger wagging, nothing. I imagine no provider appreciates being used purely for porting; I should not have made that the primary benefit of this deal. For GSM service, Ting uses the T-Mobile network. Deal allows for testing of the network with minimal commitment.

If you're curious, first step is to check phone compatibility, https://ting.com/byod. Then, take a look at how their pricing works, https://ting.com/rates.

Thanks, ajslezak. I'll update post. Microcenter promotions run through Sunday. Change occurred today. Best Buy's price remains $4.99.
