I hate seeing people get screwed into paying loads for tax prep because companies like Intuit and and H&R block lobby to make filing taxes a pain in the ass. Most people do not have particularly complex tax needs, and 70% of people in the US qualify for free tax preparation based on income. Feel free to copy/paste this info wherever relevant.

If you make less than $66,000 in Adjusted Gross Income you qualify for free tax preparation. Below are some resources.

The best resource I know of is the non-profit The United Way. They offer tax preparation using H&R Block Deluxe. This allows you to file your Federal returns and up to 3 state returns for free. State filling is where you'll generally get charged a premium, and the Deluxe version they offer is a step up from H&R Block's "free" offering. Check it out here:
https://www.myfreetaxes.com

Different H&R block versions for reference: https://www.hrblock.com/tax-software/

While you can produce your state return, you may not be able to e-file for free. You can certainly print and mail your return for free, however. Many states also offer their own free e-file solutions. Here is some info on state returns I was able to dig up:
https://www.mymoneyblog.com/free-...tates.html

If for some reason you'd prefer not to use the United Way/H&R Block, the IRS has a list of free tax preparation websites here:
https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-f...s-for-free

If you need more assistance the IRS makes volunteers available to assist people in doing their returns through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, and they offer assistance to older adults through the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program. Find a location near you here:
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/f...volunteers

Many city and county office also have free tax preparation available to citizens at libraries and government offices throughout tax season. Check your local government website.

Yup. Just bought mine right now, btw you're able to use the cartwheel online. You don't need to go in store. So my deluxe with cartwheel, and 5% off with red card, and 5 dollar free giftcard came out to 37.80. Just waiting for Target to open to pick it up.

Why not add the 10% off in the title since you would be a fool not to save another 10%.

$30 plus $10 amazon gift card if deal is still live. $37.80 is ripoff.

$30 seems to be deluxe without state. With state it looks to be $40, same as here

Yes, my apologies. $30 is w/o state. No state income tax here. I got w/o state from Costco for $29.99, then amazon deal popped up. I have the CD from Costco. Amazon was better deal for download.

To clarify you can order online but not delivered. Your options are in store pickup or drive up.

Stop referencing the Amazon deal; it's dead.

But having said that, this still isn't a good price. I would absolutely wait for better.
