Still a good deal, but fyi it's always $14.97. I bought one a few months back for $14.97 in store.

Way too small and not $35 originally. For example similar shelve 12" depth instead of 14" is 10.99 at menards with 55lb shelf rating

Yes, unless you have a specific reason to go this small for your space, it's too small to be useful. Even if you stack multiple together, the vertical supports get in the way of putting anything useful on it. I can see it being OK for maybe soup or paint cans or something, but otherwise, go with something larger.

I actually use this to support a tarp over my boat during winter storage. They work well for that but would not use for them for actual shelf storage.

Does anyone know what the cheapest metal/steel shelves that can hold 100 pounds on each shelf? I'm looking for 3-5 tier ones to put a 10 gallon tank on each shelf.

You can get the muscle rack style shelving units at menards for around $30 on sale. Normally run about $40 Retail there. 4-5 tier
