Plugs into the OBD port and allows me to reach down and switch it off overnight and keep it on when I'm out and about in public parking.
Hard wiring it was too much work for me and risked completely killing my battery if I forgot to turn the camera off. This took 10 seconds.
"The 4k claim is fake. It outputs a 4k file, sure, but it actually records in "2k" then upscales. It still works fine for the price and is a little higher resolution than 1080 though. But don't buy it because it says 4k."
From the manuf. :An advanced image sensor and super-wide field of view capture everything in ultra-sharp 4K(2880 x 2160 @24fps) video with HDR.

Has anyone used a second one of these for rear facing recording and if yes, what's the consensus?

Well if you're in a really cold or hot area, the Anker cameras have batteries while these have capacitors, which allows operation in extreme heat and cold.
